Your kids will not do much better on diet soda, but at least they'll be more prone to eating or drinking something else...unless they don't. Diet soda is still full of those same acids they mentioned, and have no sugar in them to help them along in your digestive cramp. They can cause nausea, diarrhea and constipation, not to mention those same allergic reactions, including asthma, as regular soda does. Diet soda alone is not an "easy way out."

Nonetheless, the Center for Science in the Public Interest makes these recommendations: that governments should require chain restaurants to declare the calorie content of soft drinks and all other items on menus and menu boards; the Food and Drug Administration has been told by them to require labels on non-diet soft drinks to state that frequent consumption of sugar-laden drinks promotes obesity, diabetes, tooth decay, osteoporosis and other health problems; governments should provide water fountains in schools, government buildings, parks and other public places; school systems and other organizations, and all those organizations which cater to children should stop selling soft drinks, candy and junk foods in hallways, shops and cafeterias.

Until this month of September, 2005, there was no hard and clear evidence through science that soda itself alone can make kids fatter. But reporting in The Lancet, a British medical journal, a team of Harvard researchers had found the first evidence absolutely linking soda pop drinking to childhood obesity. Twelve year olds who drink soft drinks regularly are far more likely to become or to be obese than those who don't.

Obesity experts at Harvard found this to be highly important and spent 19 months following the children rather than simply following them around for a week or so like many studies gone before have done. Statistically through many similar studies it's been found to be more important to use a lengthy study than a sporadic or shorter study. And in this study, it was found that schoolchildren consume who drink pop take in some 200 calories per day more than children who usually don't. It supports the notion that long-term obesity is an ingrained behavior, starting in childhood, and that we don't compensate well for calories in liquid. In short, water or milk is simply better.

Soda pop also has been shown to make you thirstier, and that does lead to the further drinking of soda pop as you attempt to quench your thirst. Something about the combination of chemicals in many soda pops dries out people. So then they reach for another can of soda, thus becoming committed to a vicious cycle. And that greatly increases their calorie intake, especially since pop today is now coming super sized as well, filling up those larger and larger plastic single-serve looking bottles. It might not be a bad idea to try to follow the serving suggestion, at least, on the bottle. And it might be a better idea to drink from a plastic bottle than an aluminum can, as the aluminum has been shown to seep into the can. This may have something to do with the formation of Alzheimer plaques in the human brain, as aluminum may be a cause of Alzheimer's disease, a dreadful illness that causes people to forget everyone and everything that holds any meaning whatsoever in their lives.

Is it worth it, to worship a can of a kid's drink that was invented as a snake oil remedy in a poor man's fireplace by bubbling a concoction of chemicals together that tasted good? He only intended to sell it in small amounts to adults as a tonic, as it did seem to settle people's stomachs, and stimulate them. That's because original formula Coke's original ingredient was cocaine, not caffeine, but eventually cocaine became illegal.

Perhaps someday, we should follow suit on caffeine and alcohol. But until that day ever comes, we are stuck having to police ourselves and our children. Do it wisely.

In building an infant's immune system, breast milk acts on many levels. It contains anti-inflammatory substances that infants cannot manufacture on their own; stimulates the production of IgA, which can neutralize a substance foreign to the body before it becomes an allergen; and populates the child's immature intestinal barrier with beneficial microflora, which blocks the growth of disease-causing bacteria. A protein called lactoferrin - which makes up 20% of the total protein in human colostrum (breast milk secreted immediately after delivery) - seems to have an inhibitory effect on "unfriendly" bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia colo, and Helicobacter pylori, all of which are increasingly identified as contributing to numerous health problems, including allergies. According to researchers at the Shanghai Institute for Pediatric Research in Shanghai, China, breast-fed, full-term children had healthier intestinal bacteria than formula-fed infants. Furthermore, their findings supported the claim that factors in breast milk prevent intestinal pathogens from developing.

Most researchers and medical experts have found that children who are breast-fed for at least six months or more experience greater health benefits and fewer episodes of common childhood illnesses, such as ear infections, than do children who are not breast-fed or are breast-fed for less than four months. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children be breast-fed for six to 12 months. The academy suggests that parents can begin to introduce age-specific solid to the child at age six months but the child should continue nursing for at least the first Premium Coffee of life.

If the mother has allergies or sensitivities, breast-feeding alone will not protect a newborn from developing allergies. The most common allergy-producing foods are cow's milk, peanuts, eggs, wheat, soy, chicken, turkey, beef and pork. A study appearing in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that exclusive breast-feeding and elimination of peanut, egg, fish, and dairy products from the mother's diet during lactation reduced the occurrence of food sensitivity in the infant. Doctors recommend that women predisposed to allergies discover what foods they are allergic to before pregnancy and eliminate them from their diet. They should then breast-feed their babies without consuming dairy products for a minimum of six months while still refraining from the foods they are allergic to. According to a French study, eliminating only cow's milk from the mother's diet did not result in reduced allergic episodes. Elimination of two to four foods, however, did prove sufficient.

With the popularity of Halloween growing many families are starting their own holiday traditions. I wanted to share with you Starwarskid tradition that 80 Page Giant of my neighbors started in our neighborhood a few years ago that I'm sure has been around for years. It's called "Ghosting" and believe me your children will have a blast doing it! It usually starts the first week in October giving plenty of time for the whole neighborhood to be "ghosted". Depending on the size of your neighborhood you can either ghost one family or two. Since our neighborhood is small, I'm giving you directions for "ghosting" one house; however just double car insurance comparisons if you live in a neighborhood with many homes.

Here's what you do:

On a plain white Teeceqosin of paper (8 " x 11") draw a big outline of a ghost in black permanent marker. Then fill a goodie bag or brown paper sack with Halloween treats (candy, brownies, cookies, etc...). Print the following poem on a piece of paper and staple it to the picture of your ghost. Don't put your name on anything because no one knows who ghosts who!

You've Been Ghosted!

Late last night, we left you a treat, the tradition is fun, one we hope you'll repeat.

Now it's your duty to pass on the surprise, to another family, we must advise.

He had talked to a psychologist about this, and they simply told him, in time it would all pass, thus, he took a different approach, he sought within his dream world, to talk to a psychological seer, to get to his problem.

"I wasn't motivated at first to figure out my situation until the frequency of this illness of mine, mental illness in this case vastly increased to the point I seemed to float like a ghost within my dreams, or visions or nightmares, whatever they are. My mother didn't either know what to call them, she said very little about it. But I needed to have some control over both worlds, and I was losing that.

"How strange-so I thought at the time Henry, for me to try to cling onto these so called acquired wandering ghostly imaginings, the ones I am in now; I mean to say, it is by far another whole world here, that appears so real, and I must have tried, because I am still living within it. But let me go on, I sought you out within this dream because the human psychologists all classifying me as a psychological fruitcake; was too much.

"During the day I remain in our apartment quite a lot, a building apartment, which I live on the third floor in, there I remain almost fearful of leaving, even if I wanted to go, I couldn't simply get up and go because my legs will not allow, as for now I am talking to you in my dream world because you seem to understand more than the doctors in the real world, and my neurological disease confines me in a wheelchair. So you see Henry, it is nothing but an ongoing nightmare. I prefer this dream world to reality.

"I tried to exercise when I first acquired this disarming illusionary disease, of consolidation debt management money back and forth into this dream world without any control, but it didn't go away, my nervous system broke down even more, and my legs gave into the disease leaving me a vegetable, and so I was even hoping I'd stay in the dream world longer. While my wife and her sister were watching the Bachelorette finale they were considering the possibility that the runner up Jason or even third place finisher Jeremy will be the next Bachelor. Apparently the United States is running out of respectable eligible bachelors since Votenow had to go to England to find the last one. Perhaps we should return to the U.S. and find someone who typifies many American men.

The new Bachelor should have the following characteristics. He should be divorced at least once and have two kids from a prior relationship. He should have a hefty amount to pay in child support as well as three maxed out credit cards. He should be driving a gas guzzling SUV that is so upside down on the loan that it will take three years before he can even think about unloading it.

The new Bachelor should have a 45 minute commute to Wellbutrin new job since he just lost his last one due to downsizing. Oh yeah, he had to take a hefty pay cut and is making about ten grand less than he was.

Welcome to Reader Views Margaret. It is a real pleasure to have you talking to us about your discoveries that a major cause of ill health and stress is caused by an external diet.

Irene: The title of your book depicts a question we would never think of asking ourselves - "Is Your House Making You Overweight, Sick or Tired?" Wow, why ask this question?

Margaret: First, Irene, I would like to thank you for this interview. I welcome Creditproblems opportunity to share this life-saving information with you and your readers.

One should ask himself if his house is making him overweight, sick or tired because maybe it is. Ours

Twenty-five years ago, each one of my family members was overweight, sick or tired. I thought the
cause must be related to what we were or were not eating so I started studying nutrition. I threw out
all of the health destroyers in my kitchen and had only raw apples left! I changed our internal diet, and
we were better for five years. Then we started having excess sodium symptoms, so for another two
years I studied the nutritional literature trying to discover the source of the excess sodium. Then one
day while taking a shower, I noticed I was swelling up. That was it! There was 40# of salt affecting
our bath water and house air-that was the source of our excess sodium! Two years earlier, we had
remodeled our bathroom and added a water softener to keep the new fixtures mineral-free. That is
what was giving us the excess sodium symptoms!

As I went into other homes and public buildings, I became aware of other symptoms often matching
the later-learned symptoms of the residents. This is one reason why internal diets do not work for
very long and cravings surface; the external diet is affecting the body's balance of internal body
chemistry. Also, if the external body is being pulled outward, one must consume a lot of food to keep
the internal body an equal distance.

Irene: What all do you cover in your book?

Margaret: I cover over 125 possible household problems that might be causing the residents to be
overweight, sick or tired. I include the effects of many "invisible" stressors from a metal headboard to
dryer sheets to some types of furnace filters to gas leaks to improper electricity and many more
stressors.

Irene: What inspired you to write this book?

Margaret: As I mentioned above, my family and I realized the external diet had a major impact on our
health. I would tell others of our experiences, and they would realize problems in their houses were
also stressing their health. They encouraged me to write the book to help others.

Irene: I had the opportunity to review your book, and after several days of pondering all I could say
is "Wow, really??" What is the biggest "wow" that people find?

Margaret: Without a doubt, the biggest "wow" is the effects of improper electricity.

Electricity is powerful - it can glow, heat, cool, mix, spin, suck, wash, dry, entertain, print words, tell
time, raise the heavy garage door, and much more. Everyone knows if they were to touch an electric
wire, they would probably get electrocuted. It should be no surprise then that being a few inches
away from improper electricity or within improper electricity=s environ can have such a powerful ill
affect on the body!

Irene: You go in-depth to make us realize that improper electricity negatively affects our health.
Please explain to our readers your findings.

Margaret: First, let me explain improper electricity as I use it in my book: Improper electricity is any
electricity that causes stress on the body.

Observation of my body was the first indicator that improper electricity was a problem. I learned of a
$14 voltage detector that beeps and lights up when around voltage; it confirmed my body=s
observations. Later, I reviewed a massive amount of literature on the subject. Twice-nominated
Nobel Peace Prize Robert O. Becker has completed very precise research. In his excellent book Cross
Currents he states, ". . . with any level of voltage, the water within the tissues will be subjected to
electrolysis, a process in which the water molecules are broken apart . . . this produces gases such as
hydrogen, that are extremely toxic to cells . . . the onset of electrolysis . . . occurs at about 1.1 volts."
Even at that very low level of voltage of 1.1 volts, there is a very strong effect on one=s body. This
can be one explanation why some people cannot drink water or eat wet or wetting foods; because
consuming them would add to the body=s fluid volume.

Irene: You refer to our homes as being sick. What are the major culprits that exist in most homes?

Margaret: I believe the most major culprit in homes is, of course, improper electricity. People
believe that Atlantis because the light comes on and the refrigerator cools that their electricity is wired
correctly which is not necessarily the case.

Next would be the corrosive rod in a new hot water heater which over time dissolves into the water. I
talked with one lady whose husband had been diagnosed with throat cancer just two months earlier. I
asked her if they had just gotten a new hot water heater. She answered they had gotten a new one just
a couple of months ago!

Salt in household water softeners can have a major influence on a person=s health. Everyone has
heard the warnings about excess salt in the internal diet; those warnings also apply to the absorption of
salt externally from bath water and household air.

Heat sources such as furnaces, radiators, fireplaces, and etc. can have a tremendous effect. I know
of one brand of furnace where not only was it installed incorrectly, but also it was engineered
incorrectly. Finally after ten years, the engineers moved the location of a part=s grounding wire from
the electronics board to the frame of the furnace so after all these years, it now appears to be
engineered correctly.

Split receptacles which use a wall switch to turn on the electricity must not only be wired correctly
but also used correctly. Split receptacles should be outlawed!

Of course, we must also not forget that such things as mercury dental fillings, vaccinations, aluminum
from aluminum cookware and some deodorants, and fluoride toothpaste are also part of our external
diet.

Irene: You do realize that your information is ahead of your time and many people may consider your
information unfounded. What recourse do you take to convince them differently?

Margaret: A medical doctor aware of my research has told me I am fifty years ahead of my time. I
enjoy being a pioneer. The stranger people think it is, the better I like it because it reinforces the
newness and uniqueness of the concept. When observation of your own body leads you to truth, that
is really all that is necessary. Unfortunately, few people take time to observe their senses to connect
how they feel with their external diet. Instead they believe ill health can only be caused by the internal
diet, inherited factors, something that is "going around," or "unknown" reasons that medical
researchers have yet to discover. My research suggests most ill health is not hereditary; instead, it is
houseitary. The engineers and our technicians are our family's health care providers. If they do their
jobs right, we have health; if they do their jobs wrong, we have ill health. They know if someone at
our house is ill, I call them instead of a doctor.

Today many people pop food, pop pop, pop pills (over-the-counter, legal, or illegal drugs), buy this,
buy that, escape to here, escape to there, and etc. just so they can keep going. They do not take time
to notice how they feel when and where. They are so busy that sometimes subtle health problems are
overlooked. So I developed a Health Inventory Checklist to help them. They can use the results of

they will begin to see patterns, and it will finally dawn on them their external diet is causing their health

her about improper electricity. She said her son slept in a loft and had recently put his computer
directly below his bed! In today's world, one's behavior is composed of one's true personality
engulfed in stress. It is only when stress is removed that an individual's true personality can appear.
Divorcing spouses will say their spouse has changed. The spouse did not change; instead, stressors,
many of which are invisible, changed the spouse.

Irene: Tell us about all the research that you have done over the past twenty-five years that has given
you the insight of our external diet.

Margaret: I paid attention to how I felt when and where. And I had confidence in my body=s
senses to warn me of dangers. That is the key.

First it was the swelling up from salt in the water softener. When we got a new hot water heater, I
got an "ulcer" feeling in my stomach and an ugly green sore in my throat. Then when the Utilities

us our senses to keep us safe; we must pay attention to when we feel bad and correct the situation or
flee from it.

I have interviewed many experts and technicians and have reviewed related literature.

Irene: How do you propose we improve our external diet?

Margaret: First, we must realize it is the external diet that is causing most of our health and stress
problems. For example, if a nail was sticking out of a door frame and family members scraped their
arms on it when walking into the room, it would be obvious not to just keep putting band-aids on the
wounds but to pound the nail back into the door frame. So it is with most of our other ailments; we
just have to find the cause (probably in the external diet) that is causing the problem and eliminate it.
Usually when there is no interference (external or internal), the human body can work just fine.

When the cause of ill health is eliminated, a cure is not needed. I wrote my book as a checklistBhow
to find problems and how to fix them. With this checklist, house problems can be examined, one
problem at a time. Once your readers eliminate a stressor and notice their health has improved, they
will want to finish all the items listed in the book as fast as they can; it feels so good to feel good!

Irene: Are you writing any more books?

Margaret: Yes, I am working on the book which has the same name as my website: Stress-Free
Living at Your Fingertips. It explains how to remove stressors from the internal, external, and spiritual
diets. For it is only when stressors are eliminated that the body can function as it was originally and

There is a lot of litter on the street, and the weird thing is that those things that do not belong there (litter, etc) is what catches your eye first. The search-engines seem to have adopted this rule.

The virtual world is like the real world. When I take my bike to the mountains in only half an hour ride, I'm surrounded by nature. A closer look reveals that nature and nurture can't be separated, perhaps on a few Virgin Islands in the ocean, where nature is unaffected... A few yards away the first litter triggers my eye; a red agricultural machine, a sort of a lawn mower in the bush, a few miles further a somehow whitish fridge once pulled down the edge of the mountain, cans of coca-cola, plastic bottles, you name it and you will find it. Rubbish and litter.

The internet is like that, the real and virtual world are populated by the same people. Rubbish is everywhere, but how do search engines deal with this? Do they show pure nature or do they focus on the litter and rubbish down the road?

Testing is the ultimate activity before launching a product. A test shows some quality characteristics of a product. Fool-proof is a simple and interesting test where you enter BS data and check the response of the system. It is often a first indication of the overall quality...

A test needs data and having written a few hundred articles gives you enough data to perform some simple investigations. Anyone with a few hundred articles may check this.

The fool-proof test I performed was by using my name (by using quotes and without initials. This may not work with all names as mine is quite unique) and submitting these to the main search engines. This is the result:

1. Google's first page:

The fourth entry shows litter. Someone from Pakistan has misused my name (I'm quite sure that it doesn't fit the The Dark Knight Curse context) and put in in their url. Google finds it probably as being weird and therefor significant. The URL in question refers to a youtube video.
On the ninth place there is another occurrence of misuse with my name and showed again in a wrong context. Perhaps the same person , also from Pakistan.

2. Live Search is free from rubbish on the first page, the second and other I didn't check.

3. Yahoo doesn't show the Youtube results (because they have their own video site), but also there on the first page they show a link out of context. Again my name is used. This is shown on the 6th place.
On the fifth place there is another wrong reference from a site called "swik.net" that misused my and very likely other peoples names.

What does this mean? It means that littering is not only accepted as in the real world, it attracts the attention. In this case, the attention of the mayor search engines.

The search engines represent the eye of the visitor that drives his bike through nature. And litter is among the first that is displayed. This seems logical and fits the principle of searching: that of attention. Attention is never drawn to what you need, but to what gets you distracted.
Another view on this matter could be that Search Engines are not aware of the results they show, whereas a human check instantly signals wrong entries...

The Search engine rules are real, more real than real life itself.

Ryan: It is. You just say hey, that was the past. This is the new me. Like also when you declare it, it's definitely harder for you to go back on it, you know. If you've had a history of saying you're going to do something and don't follow through that's in the past. Today is the present and you just have to say, look this is what I'm doing. I've changed my life. This is my goal. You either support me or don't talk to me at all, you know. That's it. I've been able to - well first of all I'm blessed to have a wife who's supportive of me and a family who's very supportive but, you know, I've found that when I used to work full time with different jobs, you know, I would sometimes go to lunch with these people who were just so negative. And literally when I worked at the children's hospital I used to always have lunch with the guys in the engineering department and they would literally all they did was complain and just oh, this stinks and I just had to get away. I said look, I can't have lunch with them any more. And I just didn't. I would just sit at a different table and I'd rather just go out and eat by myself. You're better off being alone than being surrounded by negative people. It's true. I truly believe that. If everyone in your life is negative you're better off being alone because all they're going to do is put you down.

So you have to surround yourself with positive people and, you know maybe if it's your mom who every time you talk to her is all she does is put you done negative then stop talking to your mom so much and get online and start making new relationships with other people. Yeah, you know, go on discussion forums where's it's positive people. Not the negative ones. I have some private forums for my membership sites and, you know, I go through it and make sure that it's like positive, supportive people and you'll find when you attract these positive people into your life your life will start to feel better. Ryan: Now, like in my car coming here it's the second time I've listened to it, one of Jack Canfield's programs, the Success Principles.

Ryan: I've listened to Tony Robbins and Bryan Tracey and I'll listen to marketing information, and fitness CDs, or anything that helps me learn and stay focused and stay positive because what happened was actually two weeks ago I was just listening to some of the local radio shows and they just complain. They're negative. They make fun of people and it really put me like in a little funk. And to show you also how powerful energy is it's funny because my business partner Jim LaBeatty and I are in the same office suite here and there's all these other businesses too in these suites. There's one guy who was down the hall from us and he was here ever since we moved in and he was probably the most miserable looking person I've seen in my life. Like, I'm telling you Kevin, you would walk by this guy's office and you'd feel the negative energy. You really would.

Kevin: Wow.

Ryan: He always had his door open. Every time I'd walk by I'd smile and say hi. He never, ever said a word to me. He'd just give me like a dirty look. And if that's just one guy in an office imagine if you're surrounded like this in your family, or your friends or everyone is so negative. And you know what? That's just something you have to deal with. You're going to have to go to activities that are going to attract other positive successful people and people who are supportive of you. You know, there's always going to be negative people who would rather bring you down with them than see you succeed. And they're the people who are jealous and maybe your friend is overweight and they see you losing weight and they're like oh, you don't look good thin anyway or your face doesn't always positive. To be honest I don't watch the news any more. I don't read the newspapers because all it is is just negative stuff to try to get ratings. That's all it is. I probably shouldn't be saying this because I'm going to start a bit publicity campaign in the newspapers and on TV. So if you're the media listening I love you very much.

Kevin: I believe, and this is okay to move into this. Though I believe it that's people are that's where you need to get them, correct?

Ryan: Um-hum.

Kevin: You know, because a lot of people on this call they're getting this information now and I can tell by the testimonials already that I'm getting from this is that, you know, we're opening people's minds up here and this stuff absolutely applies. And I really think that it's just essential. And what I'm going to ask you now is what do you think is some of the biggest things that are stopping people from getting on the success track and getting on the fitness track and getting things in order?

Ryan: Well, I think, you know, first of all there's obviously the mindset part there is they don't actually make the decision that I'm going to change, and they don't stick to it and they just live in the past. In terms of more of the logistical part I think that it's intimidating. There's so much information about fitness, about training. It's like what exercise routine do I do? Which guru do I follow? You know, then most - I'd say 99% of fitness professionals tell clients, you know, you're going to have to work out five days a week for two hours a day and you're going to have to do your aerobic training for 45 minutes on the treadmill. And clients are just intimidated like I don't want to do that, you know. I want to stay fit and lose weight but I don't want to have to spend two hours in the gym. So I think it's intimidating and people are afraid to get started, or they go to a gym and they don't have a trainer, and they don't have any instruction and they just are following what the big muscle head's doing and people are telling them the wrong information and they're afraid they're going to get hurt. It's just a lot of misinformation and it's overwhelming. You know, you look at the encyclopedia of body builders, like it's a 500- page monster. So I think it's just intimidating and they don't know where to turn, you know. And maybe I'm throwing another level onto it saying, hey you can do these workouts in four minutes but, you know, I think that if I can teach people that hey, you know, you don't have to be a model on the cover of a fitness magazine.

You know, you can lose weight, and feel good and have more energy and get healthier just by doing these simple workouts and if you can't find four minutes. If you can't find four minutes in your day and you tell me you're too busy you're full of crap. I'm sorry. If you can't find four minutes you're telling me you can't set your alarm for four minutes earlier or eight minutes earlier. You're lying because I have two little kids. I run about 13 businesses, you know. I work every minute of my life is like planned and I still find time to work out and you can too. I don't care if you have 30 jobs. Everyone has a lunch break. You know, when I used to work in the city that was the thing. I would get to work really early and do the work there and during lunch I would run over to the gym and do a workout, you know, where everyone else would sit and shove pizza in their face at the desk, you know. And then they complain that they feel like crap and they're having heart attacks at age 35 years old. You know, stop making excuses. And you also have to take responsibility for everything in your life.

If right now you're listening to this and you are 250 pounds, or you're 180 pounds and you should be 140, whatever it is. Stop blaming. Don't blame your parents. Don't blame your parents for bad genetics. Don't blame McDonald's. Don't blame, you know, infomercials. Don't blame, you know portion size. It's your responsibility. You are the one who's not exercising or not exercising right. You're the one who's eating poorly. You're the one picking up the Big Mac and putting in your mouth and washing it down with fries and a soda. You know, it's you. It's 100% your responsibility. If you're successful and you said, hey I did that and I'm proud of myself. Then you should also take responsibility for your failures. If you take responsibility for your success take responsibility for your failures because until you do that you're always going to be blaming people and I'm tired of people not taking responsibility for their own actions. But what exactly is procrastination? How do you recognize whether or not you have a problem with it? How does a person decide whether the negative experiences that they are having in life is the result of procrastinating?

Define Procrastination

First take a look at the word "procrastination". It is created from the combination of the Latin words "pro" and "cras" which means "for tomorrow". When a person procrastinates, they are making a conscious decision to put off something that they have to do until some undetermined future time. They may decide to keep putting it off indefinitely or wait until the very last minute to begin the job. Either way, life becomes stressful because of these choices.

If you are a member of the procrastination club, then you more than likely you have a big list of responsibilities that you have not gotten around to or at the very least have made it a habit of beginning certain jobs and activities at the last minute, in which the damage is more likely already done. Procrastination is a problem for you if you have a regular habit of telling people that "I'll get to it later" or "I have too much to do now, and I will try to get to it next week", etc.

Why do we ignore such responsibilities?

Every person has their own specific reasons why they choose to put aside their responsibilities. For some people, the item that needs to be attended to may appear to be too difficult or endangers their comfort zone.

Take smoking for example. This habit is one that literally kills people every day and thousands of men and women have promised themselves to quit, yet they procrastinate on actually doing the things they should be doing to facilitate that goal. But quitting smoking would be just too hard. Even though they want to quit, and must quit, they would rather put it off after "just one more cigarette" or "I'll quit after this pack of cigarettes is finished" or "I'm really stressed right now, and the cigarette will calm down, so I'll quit tomorrow when I feel better".
